Default Engine rebuild questions

I have a 99 si with the B16A2 Currently its boosted with JRSC 6psi.. but with the lack of EMS and exsessive detonation my ringlands are bye bye. I am going to be replacing the pistons and rings with a lower compression set. First off, anyone know of a good brand that is afforable but good performance. Also is there anything else I should look at replacing during the rebuild. I will be adding water injection and an EMS once all said and done, but my concern is with the internals now.

Thanks
Bryan

you shouldnt need to do all that for 6psi on a supercharger......
try upgrading injectors or fuel pump if u already havent..

honestly u should upgrade everything while ur in there rods, pistons(they usually come w/ the rings) and u wont have to worry about it later... especially when u realize you can make so much more power w/ a turbo

wouldnt be a bad idea for a b-series its only like an extra $200 and u end up w/ practically a brand new motor.. .

fyi after doing so, i would make sure to break the motor in correctly, by driving it w/o using vtec for a good 1500-2000 miles to seat the rings to keep that thing from smoking/losing oil.. if ur too tempted u can always disconnect ur vtec

what about the cylinders wall? are they still in good shape? if not then you need to add a few more $$$ to it. gl with your rebuild.

Golden Eagle rods, sleeve...
Eagle,CP piston just a few

yeah good idea...u might have to go oversized a lil bit, cuz those cylinders will probably need a hon... je's always have been good to me .... handled untuned 20+ psi of boost on a h22 for longer than they shoulda...

you definitley dont need to build the motor as much as you are saying if you are supercharging at 6 psi but if you are going to take the head off and change the internals you should go ahead and do it all while the motor is open. with new pistons and rings you should just get a new rods and know your bottom end can take 20 psi. if you are only going to be running 6 psi with the supercharger i would also say you dont need new cams or even bearings for that matter. swap to a turbo or max boost your sc and you might need to....

Well I am sick of doing **** half fast ... I love this car, and I want room for expansion. I have the stepper pulley so I may run 8-10PSI, or maybe switch to a turbo... I am so sick of detonation, burning oil, etc. This time it will be done right, just hope I can stay under 5G
