best d series motor?
I have a 92 hatch and want to build a turbo motor with forged internals, i would like to be able to run 15-20 pounds of boost daily.Which d series motor should i build for that amount of boost? I have a d16z6 in it right now and it is pretty fast but would like to go faster.
Z6 should work just fine for that - as long as you get it tuned. Poor state of tune and 15 -20 lbs can spell disaster for any engine, forged internals or no.
Also, make sure you get a properly sized turbo - too small and trying to make those boost numbers and you'll have a melt down.
My $.02

1st of all thats BS. Boosted D's are producing great numbers now a days.
2nd ly this thread shouldnt even be open. That question along with all the other ones you currently have have been beaten to death. Do a search and read...

There is no way a Z6 can handle 15-20 pounds of boost on stock internals. I suggest building the engine and tuning it if you want that much boost.
