Default FAQ oil feed and drain lines/fittings WITH PICS !!!

Hey guys I did up some pics in MS paint of all the different fittings and stuff for the folks on CSI. I figured I'd share them with you guys too.

Oil feed fittings (these are some of the types of fittings you may use for a feed line)

SS braided oil drain line (to cut SS hose wrap it with masking tape then cut through tape)

Oil drain with weld on bung

Oil drain with bulkhead fitting

Alternate oil drain line (for use with rubber hose)

I posted a thread on here a year or two back, and back then I didn't know jack about fittings. I actually didn't fully understand fittings until 7-8 months ago. This was when I figured out what kinds of places you can expect to screw a 1/8 npt fitting into, where you use -3AN or -10 AN hoses and fittings, and different ways to set up your oil pan drain. I didn't actually understand it until I had the fittings in my hand, that was when I finally learned what fitting was what and where it would go to.

Can someone help me out with this question: I'm switching from a Greddy Kit TD05-18G on my 00 Si to a Drag manifold/downpipe/ T3/T04e setup and want to know if if my greddy oil feed line and return lines hook right up to the new garrett turbo? And/Or if I'd have to buy new oil feed and return flanges for the T3/T04e and which ones to work with my greddy lines? Hope thats not confusing. Thanks!

I thought about how to tap the block for the oil feed source but there are like 3 different ways to do it probably more. I started to do them, but stopped cause there were too many ways to do it.

The BSPT to NPT is just a little metal Male/Female fitting

Yah, but then how would you want to hook it up?

#1 BSPT to NPT TEE into the stock oil pressure sender hole in block, stock pressure sender in TEE and 1/8npt to -3an or -4an adapter into other hole on TEE and feed line to that adapter

#2 BSPT to NPT fitting or an fitting, an line to firewall, bunch of T's on the firewall. Stock oil sender on firewall tees, feed line to firewall T's

#3 oil sandwich plate, feed line from sandwich plate to turbo, plug extra holes on sandwich plate

#4 oil sandwich plate, feed line and aftermarket pressure sender to T off of sandwich plate, then feed line...plug extra holes

#5 oil sandwich plate, one line for feed another for aftermarket oil pressure sender

You get the idea...there is more then one way to do the oil feed. If I had listed how to tap if from the block, then I would have had to show all the other methods.

It varies from one sandwich plate to another. For example the Greddy plate has metric ports, IIRC it has two 1/8 BSPT ports and one larger 12mm or 18mm port. The Golden Eagle sandwich plate has one 1/8 NPT port and one -8AN o-ring boss port. For the GE you can get several types of adapters for the larger port depending on what you use it for. You can get a plug to cover up the -8AN ORB port, a -8AN plug with a 1/8" NPT or 1/4 NPT port drilled out. Or a -8AN ORB to -6AN/-8AN/ or -10AN for a VTEC conversion. For the other 1/8 NPT plug you can use it or just get a 1/8 NPT plug if you dont want to use it.
