Who won the enduro?
just wondering if anyone can post the finishing order of the enduro?
I left right after the ECHC demo heat; three heats of racing with a broken/locked-up clutch appeared to have destroyed 3rd gear; i figured i better drive home before I had no gears left to motivate with! i missed out on running the enduro; really wished I could have competed, but after the ECHC demo i basically had only minimal gear shifting capability...
dying to know the finishing order!!! can anyone help?
thanx
Todd
PS made it 400 miles home no problem. had to shut off the engine to stop and crank it up while in 1st a few times; ran a bunch of lights/stop signs, but made it home no problem. Yeah Honda!!!!

Steve Marcus's yellow Cobra won overall. The white 911 with the blue stripes and Roger Foo's car were also in the top 5. Sorry I can't remember more... I saw the results printout afterward but didn't bring a copy home.

PS- Todd, your PS below reminds me of the time I had to limp my car home from Summit Point stuck in 4th gear (broken linkage bolt). I had to run a toll plaza in northern VA (i.e. I went thru the "Smart Tag" lane instead of the cash lane), because if I stopped to wait in line and pay the toll I wouldn't be able to get the car started again.

Steve Marcus's cobra did win but he did not drive it, it was driven by a Gril named Sunny and another driver, 2nd place was the 944 s2 convertiable, then a 911 rsr then a 90 miata drive by Peyton who did not have a crea nad drove to the track fuel pumps pulled his credit card out to fill up... And I belive it was Grant lockwood and Roger Foo 5th

Ah yes... second place = the red 944 convertible with the big wing, then the white/blue 911, then Payton (super fast!) Wilson in the silver Miata, then Foo/Lockwood in the famous yellow Civic.
PS- I didn't know that Steve didn't drive his Cobra, but I believe it was shared by noted SCCA regional/national Ford racer Brian Dobyns at some point. Anyway, driving his Cobra or not, Steve Marcus is also fast as hell! You can see him in his ex-PTG GTU/GT3 BMW M3 at the Homestead, FL Grand-Am pro race on Mar. 2...

Payton's Miata was busted too. Hehe. He should be even faster with a properly working version.

John Williamson in the SSC 200SX SE-R also took first in class. John Walsh took 2nd in his class with his ITB golf. They had a blast at VIR, but the 11 hour tow from Rochester, NY was pretty killer for an average working joe.
I don't know if some of you got to watch or not, but the SE-R and Payton's silver spec miata got to dice it up pretty good the last few laps.

I was the 2nd Honda! Okay, so what if there were only two of us. I finished 2nd in class, which really sucked because I was consistently 5 seconds a lap faster. He only took one pit stop though, for 2 gallons of fuel. I had two pit stops, 5 gallons each. After the race I figured out that I could have gotten away with one stop, and would have won if I did. Chalk that up to inexperience. I was very conservative with the fuel strategy since that car starts starving at about 1/3rd of a tank. Next time I'll know better.

Walsh and Willamson know how to run enduros. I've been crewing for them since '98 or so. They have some insane amount of tracktime racked up on that poor little 200SX SE-R that they co-drive. 3 * 12 hours at the Point (only 2 drivers), 2 * 24 hours of Moroso, and countless 2-4 hour races.
We had some problems with the Golf. Had to come in to tighten the front lugbolts and bleed the rears down a little, and in retrospect, we should have dumped in some fuel then, but it was still showing 7/8ths. That 2nd stop was a really quick splash and go though. Almost 2 gallons on the money. I still think he could have made the last 15 minutes w/o it

Which is why it might be going to a new home soon for very cheap...
