Default B16a or B18a/b for all motor build?

hey i picked up a 94 hatch with a b16a i/e and it was boosted before so i am not sure on the health of the motor. but i am wanting to build a nice street drivable all motor car. and i was wondering if i should stick with the b16 or swap it out for a b18a/b i can get a b18a1 for 125 dollars for the whole longblock and manifolds. and i dont want to go turbo trying to be different also going non-vtec would be cool. i was thinking i could buy that and put a decent amount of money into it rebuilding it strong then sell the b16 to cover the expenses of rebuilding the b18. Just let me know what you guys think my best option would be. i will be dropping about 1,000 dollars into whatever motor i decide to go with.

Please use the search function....this topic has been beaten to death.

Honestly...in view of what I've learned from some of these site members I'd say a B18B.
