overheating at low rpm only....
my b16 turbo only overheats at low rpm.....if i driving in bumper to bumper traffic i start overheating then if i decide to rip it cuz its clear the temp goes down ...this is only in taffic i overheat...i have a fullsize radiator with a pusher fan....and i have no thermostat.....so i dont know anymore...could this be the water pump and is there anyway to check it before i go out and buy one and then that not be the problem....HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPp

wow that actually sounds logical but idk...why do people say u cool better with no thermostat?

Because the thermostat is a physical body. It will resrict flow if you jam it inside a pipe. You may not warm up though in cold weather.
don't no...i had mine out before and at a stop it would get hot but when i was driving it was cool...but it did that only in the summer when it was real hot out...so i put it back in (honda oem) and its great now..

Take the timing covers off and see if the water pump is weeping. You should really put your t-stat back in also, and if it doesn't freeze where you're at, lower the % of coolant in you radiator (go to about 25% coolant) and run Redline Water Wetter (reguardless of freezing temps), this will increase your cooling capacity a good deal.
I'm probably wrong. I guess the slightly higher pressure could make the pump perform better. Yeah, mine runs pretty cool with it in. Damn cold winters here.
Are you sure that your fan is working. The only difference between sitting in traffic and going at freeway speeds is the amount of air moving over the radiator. Unless you can sit in traffic at 4000rpm and it does not overheat, then it might be an impeller issue with the pump.
