Default noises when turning

so i've started hearing this noise lately whenever i turn to the left. taking a slow left turn doesn't do it, i have to be pushing a little. i though maybe the axle was coming loose from the transmission, or the control arm was rubbing, but these all seem to be OK. it sound like a clunking noise, and i think it's coming from something that i spinning. i don't feel any jerks from the car, so it can't be a huge problem, and there are no visible sign of anything wrong from underneath either. anyone have any advice?

Its your CV joint on the axle. Check the rubber boot where the axle bends, that's where your CV joint is on the axle.

I just had this problem. My upper balljoint was gone, replaced that and that damn noise is still there. It is when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right and it gets to the end of the wheel, I hear this PING noise like the "O" ring on the axle or the CV joint is popping out...but nothing actually breaks or pops out.

Not sure what it is now, I will have to get someone to turn the wheel while I crawl underneath to find out where the noise is coming from.

I also heard the noise coming from the rear end at the same time the front made a noise. More like a creaking noise, but it could just have been noise traveling through the car to the rear end....I hope

Hope this helps.

I have the same problem, EXCEPT the noise that I hear is a clicking noise when I am turning. I know it is coming from the right side, but I have no idea what it is. I was told by some people that it is prolly my CV joint but I havent had time to look at it nor have it fixed. If you or anyone else figure out what the problem is for sure...Then let me know that way I can look at mine and have an idea of what it is that might be wrong. Thanks! ~Anthony

check all the areas by the cv boots to see if there's any grease, if yes then your boot got torn and the ball bearing things in the boot are rubbing together, just replace the axles.

does it happen at high speeds (20+ mph) or low speeds (5mph - 10mph)? Is it more of a thumping noise or a clicking noise?

mine is mostly at a dead stop, turning the wheels. the right side makes a loud ping sound, I just had the balljoint replaced so im not sure what mine is until I get underneath the car and have someone turn the wheels.

Sounds like a cv joint for the clicking noise when turning though.

If you have clicking you need to go gen a new CV Joint, all your grease has leaked out of the boot and the joint has gone bad,

Yup and all the grease will be around the car somewhere in that area. I'll tell you that it'll suck messing with your suspension then all of a sudden you grab a pile of grease ****.
