the jdm ecu's havea speed gov. at like 110 or so.. you can go to the dealership and havethem look up the serial number to see if its usdm..many times when you go to get your swap ref'ed they will require proof that your ecu is usdm..dealerships can provide that

my jdm p72 has a vtec engagement around 4300 under 1/2 throttle, and around 5000 under 1/4 throttle.

JDM P72 has VTEC cut in at 4400rpm and secondary butterflies at 5800rpm the exact same as USDM GSRs. VTEC needs certain criteria before it activates and engine load is one of them, so you can drive at 100mph in 5th gear on the level and because there is no load on the engine and the VTEC wont be activated. This is the same for USDM integras as well as JDM. JDM ECUs (P72) have a smaller body, theyre 3/4 the size of a USDM p72 ECU, i dont know how a US GSR will run on one as they're set up for a higher ocatne fuel, higher CR (10:6:1) and will have slightly more aggressive air/fuel and ignition maps, but they should work ok in a US GSR, except for the 190kmph (119mph) speed limiter.
