Default is this a bad engine??

well ive done a swap in my ef, its a b16a and a i have a few problems. First, the engine idles eratically, and if you drive it for a minute, it sometimes cuts off, when oyu turn it back on it idles super low, and almost cuts. throwing a code 7, which I believe is tps, i plan to try an ls TB, to see if this works, im assuming the tps is bad. Second i hear a slight knocking noise, not sure exactly what it is. A friend told me it could be either the rod bearings, or mainshaft bearings, which indicates a ruined bottom end. Its not knockin loudly, but it is slight. Now im worried, and am thinking of going back to the importer, to get another motor, being that mines is still under warranty. Last my car is so slow its pittyful, when vtec kicks in, the car hardly moves, and it takes for ever to get up in speed, is this because of the tps? It idels ok when standin still, but when you hit the throttle it goes up and then falls belowe the normal idling rpm. very stressed, any help would be much appreciated!!!

peace

The ticking sound might just be the valves. They probably need to be adjusted. When the car is running, put your ear up to the valve cover and listen if the sound is coming from the head. Its not very hard to adjust them. The poor performance could be due to the valves really needing adjustment. Also, you may just need to adjusting your idle to fix the stalling problem. Could be something else, but I would start with that.

code 7 is the tps just through the ls t/body on it, although it shouldn't affect peformance..... and about the car being slow def adjust the valves and a full tune up

I'm getting a code 7 too and would like to get a new TPS, but Honda wants like $400 for a new TB and will not sell the sensor seperately! Can anyone here suggest a sorce, or is the junk yard (ie: ls TB?) the answer? BTW: I have a ZC, but any D series 1.6 TB will fit, I'm told.

Thanks in advance
