89 Si differences to other years?
I am looking to buy a CRX and have been looking around the forum and others to get more information. I havent found anything partaining to this car im looking at.
Its supposedly a 89 si, and it has some differences from the models that I am used to seeing. Particularly the fron end. It was a shorter hood, and then another panel between the lights. I was just wondering if I would be able to get the "regular"/aftermarket elongated hood that reaches all the way to the bumper.
Also, in the rear, it has this thing covering the window, and it doesnt have the glass part of the hatch, right above the lights, but it has a spoiler, that is painted the body color. Can I remove the thing that covers the windows, and why does this have a spoiler?
The door handles are also right at the side of the door, instead of on the door, as I am seeing on other cars.

Is this car so different because its an 89 along with being an SI? Its currently for sale in my neighborhood, and I was wondering if I should try to get it, or not. But I dont particularly like the differences in the car, mainly being the painted spoiler lip and not the glass, and the hood/front panel. Is this the 105hp motor or what?

im not positive but im pretty sure the Si badges are in the upper right even on the first gens.
the whole thing looks phoney
first gens are still cool though, if it runs good offer him like 800 and make it look less gay.

Lol, thanks guys. I didnt read up on anything older than 88, thats why I was so confused by this one. I personally dont like that car as much as the 88-91 crx's.

I do like the 1st gen shift ***** better than the 2nd gen... I dunno what it is about the 88+ civic / crx *****, they just look and feel really cheap. IMO.
