Alright, I've made up my mind and have decided to keep my car NA, but now I face a new dilema. I want a setup that will be fun for street use, but also relatively RELIABLE for a daily driver. I can't have the thing breaking down on me LOL.
I currently have a 00 Si with the stock B16A and I/H/cat/E. I am considering two options, on a timeline:
1. Keep my current engine (for now), upgrade the cams, try to keep it pretty "toned down" I would'nt go with a wild NA setup this way, I just want something I will enjoy driving and not have to loose any sleep over.
2. Swap. Now here's where my situation get's a bit tricky. I have access to a garage where I can keep my swap and work on upgrading/tuning BEFORE I install it. I will choose this path eventually, and run my B16A until I'm ready and have the new engine completely up and ready to rock. But right now, a swap just does'nt make as much sense $$$ wise. In the end, this set up will be much more agressive and not so street comfortable.
SO... What do you guys think? While I'm saving up for the swap I want to be able to drive my car and have some fun new "toys", I'm sure you can all relate to that LOL. I'm leaning towards a mild cam upgrade on my existing engine, and then starting on the new engine as a longer term project. But I wanted your opinions, so give 'em to me. Should I maybe just save my $$$ untill I can put it into upgrading the swap?
Recommend me a good cam setup (including other valvetrain parts if need be) for a FUN/kinda fast street driven daily driver.
But, if you have any other suggestions, please offer them up.
I'm open to ideas, but keep in mind that I want to keep as much of the VT stock as possible.
Thanks
Nate

i would think an ls block with your b16 head with some itr or p30 pistons with arp rod studs and some nice cams would be a relatively good bang for the buck.

Yea, the thing is that I would like to setup a new complete engine while still keeping my B16 in the car. It's my only ride, I need to be able to use it.
yeah a ls or gsr block with some p30 pistons or ctr pistons..then a gsr or b16 head and some ctr cams, itr valvetrain..oem
i hear with ctr cams n ctr pistons..that sucka revs really fast..havent experienced it myself yet tho
