a1 = obd0, cable trans, lower compression, little less power than a2
a2 = obd1, hydro trans, higher comp, little more power than a1

well i have a swap in my crx right now ls motor,b16 tranny, hasport mounts and linkage,dc sport exhaust,and intake but i hate not haveing vtec, and i really dont want to

Well it looks like you've answered your own question, you don't want to do LS/VTEC nor want to spend the extra cash for a GSR, so get the b16a if you want VTEC, its not going to be faster really.

b16a2 are 160hp not 170

I'll be ordering the B16A1 second generation motor soon (92-93 Integra XSi motor). It has 170Hp 113Trq 10.4 Compression (JDM OBD I) and also it is a cable tranny.
