Default need help vtec

i did a swap in my dx hatch i'v got a b18c1 now the vtec has always work.........but now it seems to work when ever it wants to.........i tride changing the ground wire and it still does the same.......where should i go from here

on my d15B, in my civic 91, I though I was having the same problem, but I have read somwheree on a Board that my Vtec system is a 3 stage one, so, it kick in three part or all for one in heavy driving condition So I just have to learn to work with.

what do you mean whenever it wants to?
you know the car has to be fully warm right? also check your oil level
vtec is very tempermental (i know from experience... grr)

what i mean by when ever it wants is that i could be driving and hit 4500 rpms and it wont kick in then at othe times it will.........or today it kick in real quick then stop and yes i did check my oil and it was good
