Fuel pump not priming - MYSTERY!
Heres the story:
Ive had my car down for a few months setting up my turbo system. I needed to change the fuel pump, but before i did that i for some reason checked if the fuel pump would prime. It didn't, but i was like "oh well, i'll fix that later."
Now, after the new walbro pump is installed, the pump still doesn't prime. I tested my main relay, that's ok. Battery is juiced up.
My manual said check the voltage across two wires (+ and ground) on the clip under the rear seat. Its supposed to have voltage when the switch is turned to the ON position. What happens for me is there is voltage (12v) for about 1 second after the ignition switch goes to the ON (II) position, and then the voltage drops to 0.
The pump is not priming, i hear nothing.
any ideas?
I want to drive my car
thanks

i had the same problem it turns out that the positive wire to the fuel pump was pinched between the frame and the gas tank...
not sure if that helps. but i tried everything.
Did you try a new relay? I have heard the tests for the main relay only test it for opens and not shorts....try and replace it witha known working main relay first

thanks for the replies.
I heard that too about the relays. i'll check with my friend's relay but i dont think that's the issue. I'll also look into that pinching thing.
as for the CEL, i cant remember whats supposed to happen here but whether or not my ecu is grounded the CEL is solid on with the ignition in ON (II) position.

that means that the ecu is bad. Switch ecus and try again.

thats what i was wondering... hmmmm... how would it go bad like that?
is it possible that it's the wiring by the ECU not the ecu itself
