Default Searched: LX cluster in DX w/ Z6

OK I hope you understand my title. I sourced an lx cluster w/ a tach, but the redline is a 6K. Will the tach read properly when I get my car running. What I mean is if the rpms will be accurate with the LX as compared w/ the EX/Si tach?

The rpm's will be just inaccurate as the OEM ex/si tach. The only real difference is orentation & faceplates/bezels. Internally they're the same stuff. The ecu still reports the engine speed the same way, as well as the LX cluster interprets/outputs them the same way as the EX/SI.

It will be accurate to some extent (won't be dead on). As far as calibration between the LX and EX/Si tachs, they will be the same. Say 7200 = redline for the Z6, your LX tach will read 7200 at redline for the Z6 even though it's far past the redline mark on the tach.

Yes, it will work fine. I'd strongly reccomend goign with an EX cluster though.

I had a VX cluster (6k redline, up to 8k) with my B18C. Had to get an EG6 cluster cuz the tach didnt go up to 8,400.

For some reason I was thinking that he had a cluster with no tach......my LX cluster had no tach.

LX into DX with Z6 will work no problem. Nothing needs to be done. Plain and simple, plug and play.

sweet, thanks guys. Ultimately I wish it was the EX cluster, but I've seen those ******* go from 70-110 consistently. Everytime I hit up the junkyard, the donors are already missing the cluster. So I hopped on this one, they had just brought the car in too, and I raped it. haha plus it was $30 out the door, and I got me the clock too.
