Default launching with slicks(did search)

hey i was just wondering how you guys launch your R with slicks....i just got in my yokohamas and I'm going to the track on friday....so my question what is the best way to launch with slicks? rev it to what rpm and dump the clutch...or feather it out like it was on street tires?

thanks in advance

DO A SEARCH!!!!

just joking , I would launch at like 2500rpms and feather the clutch till like 5500rpms, then let the clutch go at VTEC, and that should work, or at least it does on stock tires

try dumping the clutch around 7K and let the LSD and slicks go to work and then be ready to get a new clutch

Definately watch out for those 7k dumps. Not good for the axles, might want to have a spare set around

yeah sorry i should of been more clear...they arent full blown slicks...they are used for autox and drag....i got them so i can just throw on the wheels at my house and roll over to the drag strip without having to chnage them there...so youd say around 4500...ill give that a try and see how it goes....thanks

I would go at least 5k....at the very least. I launch at 5500 with my 555r's...no clutch or axle problems yet *crosses fingers*

actually if you launch too low you're more likely to break something. when you launch high there will be more wheel spin, and less destructive load on the drive train.

Just start easy and build up till ya feel comfortable, me i might start off at 3500/4000 and see what happens if ya running stock with just semi slicks...

Yup. I agree If you are planning on launching that low, ditch the slicks and go with your street tires. If you launch that low on slicks you'll just bog the car down anyway and your times will be horribly lower than without them. I guess if you really wanted to run slicks and launch at 4000 than you could really put some air in them, but......again I don't see a purpose. Not to be mean of course. You should be up there in the RPM's in your launches depending on the size of your slicks. I am usually up about 7.5-8 grand on 8 inch MT's. It's a scary feeling everytime you do it though as there is a great chance of busting an axle. Sure makes for good 60' times though. Good luck!

I thought AutoX tires are´nt good for DRAGing, cause you don´t want a tire with a stiff sidewall
