I am wanting to put a Ls/vtec motor in my crx but dont know what wiring problems i am going to run into and how would it perform My setup is using b18b block and b16a2 head info please.
LS/Vtec into a CRX....you should be happy with. Do it correctly and if you think there is something wrong...don't be afraid to get some help.
Don't go cheap on the oil lines and you will be happy in the long run.
Don't skip out on machining also if the block and head look like they can use a good resurfacing.
Depending on what model your CRX is...you will and might have to do MPFI. After that, you'll have to run Vtec. Since you're running a B16A2, I take it you're going to run obd2. So you'll have to either convert your car to accept obd2 or convert your engine over to pre-obd.
If you get it all running right...you should go into the 14's if you can put the power to the ground. 13's NA isn't out of the questions in a CRX. Especially if you start to mess with it.

All the wiring can be done by http://www.rywire.com, whichever way you choose. OBD0 or OBD1, MPFI swap for a DX/STD or just a subharness for HF/SI. Check us out.
LOL holy **** at least Nikozai tried to answer his question with a link.... It scares me these days that people on Honda-Tech love to hear themselves talk so much that they can just type away without answering a question.
The answer!!!
Wiring up an LS/VTEC as long as you're staying within your original OBD of the car (with a CRX it's OBD0) set up is very easy. It's basically like wiring up a b16, with no knock sensor. Depending on the ECU you run, you could possibly have no extra modifications needed at all in terms of wiring between it and any other B-Series DOHC VTEC.
In your situation, using a b18b (OBD1-2) bottom end with a B16a2 (OBD-2) head, you will however run into some slight problems. Mainly the disty on your b16 is OBD2 and will need to be replaced.
As one person mentioned though, although this has nothing to do with an LS/VTEC... if you're DPFI you're still going to need to do the MPFI conversion, which can be found in 150 different places (Just search on Honda-Tech).

to stay OBO0 you have to use a PR3/PW0 and chip them to get rid of the knock sensor. The othere ecus listed p28/p72/p30 are OBD1......you can use the stock crank, pistons, even rods. Most will suggest getting arp rod bolts, arp head studs, and vtec water and oil pumps and timeing belt......although you do not have to do this it is suggested.
I just completed one on my si crx, if you have any more questions pm me

since you want to stay OBD0, you will need to use a pr3 or pw0 ecu and get them chipped with the knock sensor disabled. you may abe able to use a stock 88-91 si ecu chipped to doch vtec spec (not sure if this is possiable). other then that you will be changeing to OBD1 chipping a p28 or another dohc ecu p30/p72 but this will also add up, as you will need an OBd1 or 2 dizzy, 4 wire O2, conversion harness, and the extra plugs you will need.......your choice, but the way i went was to just find you a knock sensor and use one of the bolt holes for the alternater braket and tap the block for the knock sensor, that is what I did
if you have any othere questions this site may help....
