are there any other differences between an EX and DX model

besides: DX - no sunroof
no power options
different head?

an would putting a EX head on a DX make it the same thing?

doesnt ex have VTEC?? not too sure about the U.S. models, i think your EX is my SI,m if it is, it has VTEC and you would have to get a new engine harness to make the EX's VTEC functional, and you would need a ECU that has VTEC capabilities.

the ex head on a dx motor is called a mini me swap. To make your car perform the same as a ex u would need to swap in the whole d16z6 which has a different tranny as well.

It shouldn't, the Y8 has more compression. Put your mini-me in an EX and see how "well" it does.

Like Bauley said, it wouldn't be the exact same, because of the compression.

But you could get close, provided you didn't just do the head, and also did all the manifolds, etc.,

And what year are you talking about so we know

im not too sure if the blocks are that different but obviously they are cause there stamped different but then again there both 1.6 maybe different pistons? but the ex has vtec and dx doesnt so the heads are deffinatly different. the trannies are geared different too.

there are many different things about an lx and ex. not only is the lx motor a ***** 1.5L sohc but it doesnt even have vtec. atleast the ex tries to make 127 hp with the slightly larger 1.6L vtec but there are also other differences in the suspension and chassis. eihter way they both need a motor swap or some boost...
