I was looking to give my 00' Ex, a little more agressive stance and was looking to drop it like 1" front and rear, but ive heard horror stories about camber problems after lowering, and was just wondering if i could lower it about an inch, without having to buy a camber adjustment kit. You should be fine. Just get an alignment afterward.

 

Alright thats what i figured cuz its such a small adjustment, and im gonna do with a quality spring like a tein, or something of comparable qualitiy, but if anyone else has anything to say feel free to post. Thanks again!

 

Tein gets from me.

I've got them on stock shocks (too poor to upgrade as of now) and I haven't had any issues. Gives about 1.5/2" drop.

you won't have camber problems with that low of a drop...i dropped my car 2.25" and had camber problems, but that is easily fixed with camber adjustable upper control arms front and rear...(im actually gonna keep a degree or 2 of negative camber for handling reasons)

 

just watch cuz when we dropped my friends civ he only wanted to take it down an inch like your going to do, he got springs that said an inch, but in the end they dropped him closer to an inch and a half.

just put tein s-techs on my 99 EX a week or two ago, looks great, but as soon as you get 4 people in the car, the back wheels go slightly up and behind the wheel well which looks disgustingly rice-ish and anytime you turn faster than 5 miles an hour it rubs, but with just yourself or one passenger everythings great

Yeah, I've got 18's on my car and I only get a little rubbing on sharp turns where I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right.

You can do the washer trick in the rear and cut the fender lining in the front of you want.

 

Go for the Tein

 

dude, you can get a cheap camber kit for 65 bucks on ebay. Thats what I'd do

 

with only 1 inch drop there should be no problem. when i dropped mine 2.5 there was a little camber problem.

 

Tein S-Techs will offer a nice even drop at maybe 1.5 inches at the most, and I assure you the tires will wear evenly if you'll simply get a FOUR WHEEL TOE alignment.

I put some Tein S-Techs on my 1990 Civic beater and performed the toe alignment myself (i work at a shop with a good alignment rack). YES the camber reads to be too much negative technically speaking (mine is at -1.4 up front with -1 being the max allowable on the specs), but my tires are wearing 100% evenly with the toe dialed in the niddle at .08 rear, 0 up front.

Don't let some alignment shop say your tires are going to be ruined with only -1.8 or less camber - toe kills tires 10 times worse!

Yah, I was planning on cutting some of the fenerline in the front, but whats the washer trick for the rear? Thanks

anyone have the skunk2 lowering springs on their car? ive seen some with the coilovers..but i dont think ive seen any with the springs
