Replaced Headgasket, car smokes only till about 10mph, then stops?
I just finished changing the head gasket on my '92 EG Hatch w/ a D15B7...i went about 5 miles around my neighborhood and noticed that at first it smoked a lot...then as i drove further it stopped smoking...but whenever i took off from a stop it smoked till i got to about 10 mph, it'd stop...valve guide seals maybe? timing's perfect engine and ign., car runs solid (it's ATX) but smokes...arRrGH, i don't feel like yankin' the head off again to figure it out, anybody got any ideas? and..am i putting this in the wrong forum?

Most likely it just has anti-freeze in the exhaust,
Especially if the previous gasket was blown..
Take it on a long cruise..Watch the coolant and oil level
making sure neither drop and hopefully the smoke will fade with time.
Also watch for any signs of over-heating...

im a mechanic, the guys advice in the previous post is right, almost every car i do a headgasket on smokes forever, i have many times second guessed myself on this. but just drive like 15 minutes harder the better to get that exhaust hot and blown out. it'll fade more and more
sorry just noticed this was almost a week old, im sure you figured it out already
