1998 honda crv belt tensioner
oh boy.
The factory must have really torqued this bugger on. After ruining the bolt head I used a bolt gripper and even then couldn't budge it. Granted there's not much room to work with, but whew, it's on tight. I've never had a problem like this.
Time to stop messing around and blow it out with the torch.

that cant be that tight...its only torqued 35lbs i think...i know for sure that its less than 50lbs...and that is size 14mm...theres so much room in there if u take the power steering bottle...if thats still no room for u then u can take the side engine mount...it should not be that hard at all...
Nope, it's tight. It may be seized up....just doesn't make sense since all the other bolts and nuts came off so easy.
Well, the motor mount bolts are tight too, so it's most likely they are seized as well.
Time for gorilla mechanic....

i've seen some tensioners that have been SOOO tight that they start to round off even with a good quality 6pt. zero offset box end!
good luck. a torch is your only choice.

Ditto. Had to cut one off once

I'm trying to get the tensioner off so I can replace vtec screen filter - the front one. I have remove the power steeling and top screw for tensioner. I can feel the bottom screw but it appears I'm going to have to remove the motor mount to get to the screw. Is there anything special I need to do to make sure the motor mount is removed and installed correctly? Is there an easier way?
