type r rods into B16
im in the process of building my next motor and was curious if there would be any advantage to pairing my CTR pistons to ITR rods instead of just the stock b16 rods. would this even be worth it? or should i use the money for something else.
TIA
TIA
there will be a difference in stroke, i think the ITR rod is longer then the b16, so it will prolly mess with your deck height, u might need CTR rods, they are better anyways more nickle in them.

Classic...
For one, the pistons themselves will not mess with deck height. Deck height is dictated by the block itself and can only be changed by either decking the block, or adding a deckplate. Now, piston to deck height can be altered by changing rods.
Two, you could not run ITR rods in that engine.... Piston will come out of the hole a good deal and I am sure you can guess what would happen from there. B16B's share the same block as the B18C5 and thus have a higher deck height over the B16A.
Third, the rods do not have more "nickle" in them. Not sure where you dug thus up. They are specified as "high crome carbon steel" from Honda. Yes, they are stronger, but in most cases for mild to moderate NA builds, stock rods will suit just fine.
