Default ls chipped ecu?

ok i got a computer chip for my ls ecu and i wanna know if i just add that with dual valve springs is that safe ? will it harm my motor? also the stock redline is 7 grand and with the chip it can go up too 8500 grand? so im wonderin is just dual valve springs enough to take it that high ? or should i just get the valves and retainers also. and if i need the valves and retainers anyone know where i can get some for cheap but i want them to have performace and last until i swap out my motor ? i was thinkin rev hard valves and retainers are those any good? anyone heard any stories bout them or can give me some other ones i can use that are good and also wont break and last

No point in running that high in rpm on an LS head... cap it at 7500 and be done with it

On stock cams your not going to make much more power over 7300 rpms.

ya it will be stock ? its just until i finish my other motor but it will be a built ls head wit a stock bottom end . but the built ls head with dc 4-1 headers, catback exhuast, and short ram intake? what u guys think bout that ? with a chipped ecu for a ls how far should i bring it up too? with just dual valves?

Anything over 7800-8000 on a stock B18A/B bottom end and you're asking for trouble.

even if i upgrade the valvetrain? what would i have to do to the bottom end to make it handle at least 8 grand shifts?

You will need:
1 ARP rod bolts installed and the big end of rods resized
2 A good balance on the rotating assembly
3 New bearings (tri-metal) would also add to the long term reliability
4 VTEC oil and water pumps would be nice also

Many have run with less and had success, but this sounds like the A-typical setup for building a reliable NA bottom end for revving the LS non VTEC engine to around 8K. Some on a budget will go with #1 only. Some will rightly add #2, and while you have everything apart, do #3, and if you are revving to 8K often go with #4.

Sorry, I have to go #2 now, good luck...

Why do you want to rev that high? Will the motor even be making power up there?

Do you have dyno charts for motors running the same head/block/cams?
