Today I was out driving for like 2 hrs, came back home and popped my hood because thought I saw some kinda steam coming out of the engine bay. Anyways my radiator was leaking coolant from the top where the cap goes. What could be causing this?, also I changed my thermostat about 2 weeks ago because it was overheating, its an 88 dx hatch stock thanks in advance guys.

 

what did the temp gauge read

 

The temp gauge was fine and the fan was on so I dont know whats going on maybe a clogged radiator??

 

cracked radiator get a new one. mine was cracked across the top a few inches and i saw it leaking.my car never overheated so my temp gauge didnt go up

 

I checked and didnt see any cracks, it was leaking from under the cap but thanks I'm going to look at it again in the morning.

 

Have you tried a new radiator cap?

An old/bad one, can allow pressure to build up til a leak forms... perhaps your leak formed right under the cap... i wish mine had (blew 2 hoses and cracked a radiator before i figured it out).
Either way it's worth the 3 bucks for a new one.

 

Oh ok I'll try this maybe that is what's causing this thanks alot.
