well i took to my bad ctr pistons on my ls rods to the machine shop to get some b16a pistons i bought put on the ls rods. but he says they dont have the right tools for the removal of the pistons or sumthin to that effect. i guess i need to find another machine shop that might have this tool but can anyone tell me what it is i need to be asking the machine shops if they have it?
Take the pistons off the rods or take the pistons out of the block? You take them out of the block by pushing them down through their bore with the crankshaft removed. You remove them from the rods by pressing out the wrist pin. They're lying to you.
They need a "jig" [that's what the guy who did mine called it] to remove and replace the pistons on the rods. Honda pistons require this because of the shape of the piston where the wrist pin is located. If the machine shop is good/not lazy it can be done in 1 day. Again, this is how it was explained to me by my machine tech - and he's one badass redneck!!!

The guy who did mine made one... like I said if they're not lazy they can take care of it for you.

i dunno its just what the guy told me. and i need the pistons removed from the rods. anyways, so the wrist pin just pushes out orr...
you need a punch type device and fixture type thing that rest on flat piece on the piston, it's not absolutly needed if your not keeping the old pistons. carefull though oem pistons are very fragile.

they are ******* ignorant. if you are not reusing the pistons the jig is irrelevant. you need to find a machine shop thats not a bunch of dumb asses.
we use a 4x4 block of wood and cut a notch in it using a big *** hole saw, and another hole to allow the pin to drop through. since honda pistons are too small to fit in a standard pin press piston holding jig... thing. that is however irrelevant.
you reinstall the pins by heating the rods. the fixture for setting this up and installing the pin is the same for all engines, and not really even necessary.
