is it the "S" model stock 1.5 ? If so, I didn't think it had VTEC. Only the Si D16Z6 had VTEC in that year.

ha ha ha... so funny
taking it to 7 grand is really safe, your tach would agree that red does not mean "STOP, YOU ARE A FRIGGIN IDIOT"
Good times and best of luck with the VTEC

i think some of them came in 1.5 vtec -e like the vx hatches.. there was one at my job but i dont kno if it was the orginal motor or they swapped that in. if so they r *** motor and youll never feel vtec like 92hp..
if it came with the D15Z1 VTEC-E engine, then i believe those are from canada models.

how do you know for sure VTEC isnt engaging? by sound? i can tell you right now, you'd have to listen VERY carefully for it on a SOHC. it engages at like 4900 if im not mistakened. try checking for any codes that are being thrown

get the engine code (on front of block to left of header) and we'll tell you if its vtec or not. On a side note, I have never heard of a vtec engine coming stock in a 93 's'. Mine was a d15b7, and I'm betting her's is too.

try answer these questions first:
1. How do you know for a fact that VTEC is not working?
2. Do you have an orange/yellowish light on your cluster that has a picture of an engine on it?

this is the worst kind of thread... when the thread starter doesnt even know what's going on and is going on word of mouth. get some solid facts first buddy, for all we know, you're gf is on her period and she doesnt know what the hell she's talking about. you canT feel VTEC pull on a SOHC from my own experience, especially in a del slow.
