b16 build help
ok im going to rebuild my b16 soon and want to build it up for a good all motor setup and some nitrous very rarely. heres what im thinking about getting. scat or eagle rods, weisco or je pistons (between 11:1- 11.5:1). arp head studs, with a cometic head gasket. stage 2 skunk 2 cams, with some kind of dual valve springs with retainers. im going to have it bored .20 over and all the clearences are going to be professionally done by erl, a local shop. right now im reving a stock internal b16 to 9000-9100 when i race. i would like to be able to do at least that safely, and sometimes around the 9800 range. i already have a msd ignition, 4-1 header, car gears, and a intake manifold, lightweight flywheel, with a 6 puck clutch, and a 255 fuel pump. im just looking to see what i should or shouldent do and if theres somthing else i should buy. thanks, josh
honestly what is the point of taking a stock b16 into 9000rpms? you arent even making power there. And that set-up you listed will not last going to 9800rpms, no point what so ever. I say get some skunk2 pro 1's, some good quality headers, some port work atleast a valve job and something to tune with.
just curious why it woudent pull that high? what do i have to do to get it to pull that high. and my b16 now pulls to about 8600 then falls off but when i take it to 9000 it pulls harder in the next gear than shifting at 8600. as far as tuning i have a wideband, and uberdata, which is doing fine so far
