Default 1994 civic burning oil help!!

Hey guys i have a 1994 civic ex coupe and it is burnin oil alot and fast........it got alot of blue smoke comin out of exhaust and withiin a month i was completely out of oil......ne way to look for things or fix will be greatly appreciated.......

head gasket. if youre handy.... its not THAT big of job. if youre not, it can be kinda costly. check your coolant to see it it looks shitty (brown and yucky) its probobly your head gasket....

bad pcv valve. if oil is traveling up the lines to your intake, you could be burnign oil that way. check for oil in yoru air filter.

piston rings...excessive blowby could cause you to burn oil...if this is the case, consider buying a new engine, unless you want to pay to have this one rebuilt.


those are the few biggies i can think of off the top of my head....

i have new head gasket and pcv valve is there nethan else to check for?

tyr a compression/leak down test.....that COULD tell you if yoru rings are shot...ill think on it...give me 15 more mins

did a compression test and it is perfect......so does that mean it aint the pistons......?

cant think of anythign else....except maybe they(you) fucked up the gasket puttign it on.... or mayeb a tiny crack in your block...b.ut my money is on some rings that are fucked up.

You need to do a leakdown test. Your valve seals could be shot.

Also, a compression test wont tell you if your oil ring is bad.

bosco is right, i meant leakdown test, and valve seals is a damn good idea.

hook an air compressor up to the compression tester fitting, and put in yer spark plug hole....position the cam so that the valves are closed and see if you hear air leaking out. if you do follow the sound to see where its comming from. do this for each cylinder.
