Default what is the highest a/f ratio you would be comfortable with in boost?

just curious what is the highest a/f ratio you would be comfortable seeing in boost on your daily driver?

i see 12.2-12.4 sometimes in boost depending on the weather would you be ok seeing those numbers or would you turn down the boost until you are solid 11's?

I wouldn't run higher than 12.0:1 on pump gas. I like to tune for mid 11's normally.

12.2-12.4 won't kill your motor. It just does that with the boost spike correct?

well it only happens for an instant then it drops down into the 11's.

it happens when it slightly spikes, then thats it. i just want to make sure i'm not going to harm anything in the engine.

12.3-12.4 is the highest I'd like to see it on a VERY cold day. If tuned correctly turning down the boost shouldn't richen up the AF's just so you know

it only happens in one spot then it drops back down in the 11's. so you dont think that turning the boost down and getting it into a different boost table will make it so it wont get that spike in a/f?

it was tuned on a shitty mbc and it wouldnt hold boost right now it will alot better so i dont blame the tuner i blame the b/c.

a quick spike to mid 12s shouldn't be that bad on 8-10 psi or so anything more then that I would try to tune it out..

I have my buddies stock b16a tuned for ~ 11 psi (rich cause it spikes maxing stock map) and he spiked to 22 psi (he left the wastegate hose off once) lol he got on it.. watched it build and it pegged teh gauge (autometer 20 psi) he checked the boost controller and said 22.5 psi.. lol I was amazed nothing broke on it! Its only tuned for a 12-13 psi spike (hitting high 11s a/f) lol.. its tuned 11.0-11.2 or so.. he Drives the car HARD.. so its concervative (timing and a/f)

at a few pounds, I think 12.5:1 is fine... above 7psi I like mid 11s though.

Try not to base your A/F under "PSI"... Try to do an estimate of how much WHP you are pushing at a certain boost and tune accordingly.

The chart that raceACCORDingly posted is vague IMO. Different turbo and different motors will create different power at different boost.

If a motor can push out 300WHP @ 8psi on pump, you certainly do not want the A/F's to touch anything higher than 11.8:1 AF at that psi.
