Default Spoon 70mm throttlebody

Does anyone have this product installed in their type r?
Do you lose any power with it being 70mm. I've had two shops comment on this and I'm not too sure if I should upgrade my throttlebody. My bolt-ons are Aem CAI,V-AFC,APEX-N1.AEM-FRail & FReg.

It is not 70mm all the way through, but rather a velocity stack up to 70mm.

And it tapers down to 62mm "stock ITR TB size." right Dave?

I know some people here have it but, I don't remember them saying "Wow go get this TB it's amazing!"

In theory, it is supposed to create a higher velocity of air into the intake thus producing a little more HO/TQ and of course faster throttle response. Does it work? I dunno, and I haven't seen any evidence that it does produce more HP.

As for throttle response, I'm sure it helps there but, if you combine it with the AEM/CAI I think that the intake would negate the benefits of the TB. You would get as good or even more consistant throttle response form a light-weight flywheel.

My vote is, save the loot and spend it on something like the cam gears and a day dyno tuning or a Light Flywheel and install. Just MHO.

Dave, doesn't Daniel have this on his car? And BTW, love the new site layout, M'mm and the Bride seats...

Good luck,

A.

Anton and others ~ IMO, this is one of those mods that is a good one for a B16, but WE have not found much gain on ANY B18C5's. BUT, if you are looking for a TB, the Spoon is about the same price as a stocker.
