When all else fails, how do I get my axle out?!?!

I am retying to remove my passenger side axle to replace it. I have tried prying, jiggling, yanking, nothing is working. I thought I could use a punc and knock it out from the drivers side but there is a metal rod across the middle of the hole which prevents me from doing this.

Is there any other method that I am missing??

I got mine out with a combination of prying and wiggling, emphasis on the prying.

Thanks. In the past, I havent had any issues with axles but this one is being super stubborn. Guess I just need a lot more patience and a little more finesse.

You need a Big ******* pry bar.
Emphasis on big
Usually i just wedge mine between the shaft near the transmission and pry and it usually pops rigth out.

get pry bar

stick it between the transmission and the inner joint

give it a quick hard jolt,

it should come right out

I'm still working at it. I have tried brute force. The problem is that my 24" pry bar wont fit at the right angle between the axle/tranny because of the subframe (i think that's what it was in the way) so I am using the smaller pry bars. I've done about a dozen axles and this wont seem to come out by brute force or finesse. I'll keep at it. Thanks guys.

i used a small 12-16" crowbar. I stuck the long straight surface inbetween the axel and the tranny, and i was able to prop it on the tranny and just pull. I did by best to try and pull it evenly (pull on one side, then pull on the other). I also ended up hitting the bar with a sledge hammer, but what finally did it was the kind of pull that could have knocked the car off jackstands

as your pulling on it just keep thinking to yourself, "its not as bad as the shift linkage."
