Default Brakes make a weird scratching sound.

I was driving my car around last night, and all of a sudden when i apply my breaks I hear scratching sound coming from my rear, I was thinking my pads had went into my rotors, but I checked them, all 4 and there all fine. So my issue is what could it be. It almost time to replace the rears, but i know i have some time before they go bad.
Whats causeing that sound?

They might have a few miles left on them, but I bet the noise is coming from the wear indicator on the pad. If it's not that, check to see if a rock or something got caught in there.

Sounds like they're toast, or they have some material caught in them.
