Default New Mugen low-temp fan switch!

I remember just a few days ago that someone stated that Mugen didn't have a low-temp fan switch like Spoon. Well, just today Kingmotorsports has them.

"A Mugen low-temp Fan Switch is now available for the Accord, Civic EG, Civic EK, Integra, and S2000. This switch activates the cooling fan at 80°C instead of the stock 93°C. More 2002 Mugen products will be added over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!"

I hope this isn't old news.

Nope...I heard about the fan switch, but this is the first time King has said anything about it. Anyone have one that they care to comment on? I don't think I've ever heard the fan come on in my car...93 degrees Celsius is pretty damn hot...

Are you sure those temps are correct ?, doesn't the Spoon switch kick in at 160 degrees F, that is much cooler than 80 degrees Celsius for the Mugen, the Mugen would be around 190 degrees F., only slightly cooler than stock. . I Wonder what one is better.

well 70 Celsius is abot 170 degrees F, I am sure I have seen Spoon suppliers advertise the spoon switch as 160 degrees F. Either way I just wonder what is the best temp setting, obviously running too cool is not good , or is running too hot. Anyone have an opinion on what temp would be best ?

The Spoon Japan website said it will reduce the coolant water temperature from 98 degree C to 80 degree C. If that the case, then it is the same as the Mugen one.

And the Mugen one is shown at $45, which is cheaper than the Spoon one. Now I wonder if it is OK to run Mugen switch with Spoon Thermostat?

Only if it's okay to run a Mugen intake and Spoon header...

Sorry, I couldn't resist...should not be any problem to mix and match though. Just get whichever makes you happy.
