Default Engine compartment cleaning question?

So when i bought my eg a month ago from some guy it was evident that he never took care of it.

But ive spent some hours today just kinda wiping down the underside of the hood and the compartment itself.. I put in a new oil filler cap, I'm putting in a CAI and wiped down some stuff.

But I do have a lot of stuff left. Is there anything else I need to finish off the job? I got tired of doing it all by hand, and I want something more quick that will make it look decent.. any kind of products they make? What would I need to cover in the engine compartment to keep water out?
Someone told me I can just take a pressure washer and just go right over it. I don't think that's very safe. I'm just tryin to clean it inside out Thanks

Hey u did a pretty good job! Some simple green will help cut the dust and grease. And I dont think there is a full proof way to keep dust out, but like u said, the reason that engine looked so dirty is because the guy never cleaned it. If u clean it every so often, it wont get as bad as it was.

i dont know if anyone noticed this but there is a chain on his radiator cap so you cant loose it.. i thought that was funny... like how often do you take the rad cap off that you would justify putting a rusty chain on it so you dont loose it.

its just fibreglass sheets... used to wrap around pipes... all it does is insulate the pipe so heat doesnt escape... not sure why hed put it on his intake... all it does is make it look like *****

Yeah that simple green works good, but also that fast orange degreaser in a spray bottle works pretty good too.
