shoot nitrous?
i have a 97 gsr. no engine work is done yet, but i do have a long list of things that will happen with time...and money...my friend keeps telling me to shoot it with nitrous and race it, but im afraid that it is going to rip my stock engine apart. what do you all think. should i do it, and what are the possible side effects, and probablitly that they are going to happen. thanks all
nitrous isnt always as bad everyone makes it out to be. making sure the system is installed correctly and tuned so that it doesnt burn too lean while on the bottle is a major factor. it's a fairly cheap way to get some power, but if not used correctly you will melt your motor. Go with a wet system no greater than a 75 shot. I like NX or the Zex systems.

if your motor is in good shape then you should have no problem....i've been running a 50 shot for about 2 yrs now

cost me about 650 and took a couple of hours to install

You should upgrade fuel pump/filter/regulator and make sure you have good plugs and wires. On a stock bottom end you should go no more than 50. 75 is pushing it on an LS and probably too much on GSR or Type R blocks.
Just make sure your car is in running order before going with a nitrous oxide system. Its a lot cheaper to prepare your car for more power rather than rebuild your car because of too much power.
