92 vx D15Z1 swap in 92 cx hatch – need wiring help plz…
I had this swap put in but the wiring was never completed so I would like to DIY it if it’s not real complicated. The vetch isn’t hooked up and I believe something needs to be done to the O2 sensor because the vx is a five wire. Another thing is if I run the car off the vx ecu or cx ecu it runs horrible like the fuel curves / timing is really off so something must need to be hooked up or changed. Any help / info / suggestions will be greatly appreciated…
Thanks

From: With my POS D15B2, Whereever whenever, United States
the conversion for wiring o2 sensors is in the forum, just search
As to your choice of swaps, i would have bought a d15b, which is 1 wire o2 sensor and all you needed to run would be the vtec wire

are you using the VX engine harness? i swapped a D15B into my 92 Vx. I hear that the 92s are prewired for vtec from the strut tower 8prong socket? to the ECU. Easiest to use the VX wire harness, or run the 5wires all the way to the ECU. Do you have that black control box connected (mounted to the firewall) ?
... check the IACV connector, or those behind the IM, i miss connected 2 of them and mine ran for a few min then shut down till i got that str8

I don’t think so – the engine was swapped in and basically bolted up. No wiring was completed at all – the swap just plugged in along with the 5 wire O2 sensor and he plugged the VX ecu in but it ran like ****. Is there anything that I should look for that would help you guys figure out what needs to be done? My friend and I are going to work on cars later today – if I have some info on what needs to be done we could try and do it ourselves. This whole swap has been a nightmare and sometimes getting the best deal isn’t a good thing. If I was to so it all over again there would be a LS swap chilling in my engine bay right now. Anyhow any help / info you can give me will be greatly appreciated….
This is what’s up with the swap – cx engine / tranny was pulled & vx engine / tranny was bolted up with its harness and O2 sensor I believe. No wires were cut or modified at all so hopefully that’s what needs to be done so the swap will run correctly.

so are u using the vx harness or the cx harness.
if ur using the vx harness then stay with the 5 wires o2 sensor since ur gonna use the vx ecu.
if ur car is not running smooth or watever, something is missing or not plug up correctly?

Well it's going to run like crap without the egr. It's a little black box that's mounted to the upper center firewall. It has 2 vacuum hoses and one electrical plug going into it. You will need to get it in order to run properly.
Here's a pic of what you need.
