Shot Syncros?
Today, I was driving down the road and missed 3rd somehow...So I heard the syncros grind obviously but I was around 5400 when I missed 2nd to 3rd...Anyway it was loud as hell....I'm pretty sure I fucked up the tranny its an SI tranny out of a EG...Now when I barely press the gas it makes a noise similar to say the input shaft bearing going bad a slight grinding sound...but only when I slightly hit the gas....? Any ideas....Syncros, Throwout bearing? As soon as I heard it...I was like ****...I fucked the tranny up...Thanks

Go get some GM syncromesh (or the like) and run it through your tranny for a while. It might fix the noise. If it doesn't, think simple first....replace the throw-out bearing and go from there.
