Default MINI ME swap questions!

Hey guys, I have been on here alot just reading and finally I made an account. I need help. A friend is giving me the following:

all from a 94 civic EX

The vtec head, Intake manafold, and dist. I wanna do a mini me swap on my 96 dx hatch back. I wanna know everything Ill need to do it. Also I wanna know what the difference is between a EX and a dx mini me. Im going to swap the trany to for his 94 ex trans. Will that work? 2 stage clutch a good idea? any help you can give me will be great, thank you.

is this a good friend of yours? this is not a good idea at all. the head he is giving you is a vtec-e head and really isnt that great and the cx tranny has long gears. what you want is a vtec head off an ex or si same with the tranny. you might wanna try and find a y8 head and tranny since your obd2.

oh in that case go for it. everything will bolt up but you might run into some small problems with obd and what not. like i know your dizzy plugs wont directly plug in but you can rewire it.

What else do i need? Ecu from a 94 manual civic? 2 stage clutch for the EX clutch good idea? My car has 101000 miles on it, is there anything else i need to worry about?

most important, why would someone do this swap on a dx block rather then just getting a si or ex block? Does the dx block and the ex head have something magical happening? I just want to understand why the mini me is what it is.

That's because EX and Si are already VTEC. There is no reason to do anything else to it. The cylinder head you're using IS from an EX/Si.
