Default . The problem was tClutch question

A week ago I took my 96 Civic to the shop. My clutch skipped on me once so I figured I would take it before something seriously wrong happened. They told me it was my Clutch Master Cylinder and my Clutch Master Slave? They said there was a leak in my Master Cylinder and I should replace both.($430.00) So I did. I just got my car back and there is not much of a difference. Should I feel a difference in my clutch or anywhere else in my car? Or did I get ripped off? Just wondering.

It changes the amount that you have to push in the pedal. It helps quicken your shift. Has the shift quickened or not?

What do you mean the clutch skipped on you? If the only problem was the master cylinder then replacing the whole thing AND the slave seems a little excessive to me. Which shop did you go to? Ask around and see if it's reliable. I'm just really paranoid about that stuff cuz there have been SO many mechanics that have tried to rip my grandpa. One time they wanted over $650 (canadian) to fix his air conditioning. Luckily he was smart and went somewhere else - Guess what... They fixed the problem by replacing a washer and tightening a bolt!!! Dishonest mechanics are the bane of society

Stupid shop, did they even figure out what the problem was before they started replacing parts? Its these bad shops that makes good shops look bad.

im pretty sure the shop knew what the problem was. Then they'd sell the used freeon from my grandpa's old air conditioner to someone else as "new". F*uckers

When you mean skipped do you mean slip? If so they didnt fix your problem and you got ripped. The only time your Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder are the cause is when the clutch peddle goes straight to the floor. Other then that there good.

My pedal was going straight to the floor before. BUT its still going straight to the floor. It feels like there is no pressure. The shops name was AJ's but they recently changed to ACA automotive. My shifting feels the same and Like I said before nothing has changed. I have a year warranty on parts and labor. What do you guys think I should do? Thanks for the help.

def sounds like it wasn't bled right. if there's air in the system it would feel all weak and shitty like that. I would take it to a dealership next time btw.
