Exhaust question
what do you call those small pipes attached to the muffler? and what is the purpose/function of them? this is a pic from under a nissan 350z and HKS "hi-power exhaust system". i checked HKS's website and distributors websites, i couldn't find any mention in regards to the design. only one site said that the tips are able to rotate if you add a body kit down the road.
Looks to me to be some type of resinator canister for toneing down the noise, Alot of the honda companies had there mufflers running the twin loop design. I know that realy toned them down alot.
so they work good? do they eliminate "popping" or just change the tone.. any ideas on how to fab/ customize something like that

ya seem to keep down on the backfiering and popping when you let off the gas. I Guess that you couldfab something like that if you wanted to. You could just hole saw the side of your muffler and build a canaster it shouldnt be that hard
