Need help with suspension / removing bolt suggestions (Big Pic)
Having some trouble trying to take the whole assembly out with that one goddamn bolt holding us back. Any suggestions on making it slide off the assembly? Here's a pic showing you.
Get a Pitman arm puller (small one) from autozone for ~$5 and use it to release the ball joint. That's the safest way. You can also beat the hell out of the knuckle with a hammer. Don't hit the ball joint (or it's bolt) but rather the metal the ball joint goes through. Usually takes 100 or so hard whacks before it just frees itself.
1. Your picture is WAY to big!
2. Go to Checker auto parts and rent the "5pc front end service kit". Inside you will find a Tie Rod lifter (pictured below). When properly placed on the balljoint (fork between the boot & knuckle with the jaw pressing on the end of the stud), it will take about 5 seconds and 6 turns of a rachet to pop that sucker loose. It's simple lever action gets the job done without ever damaging anything...
I personally don't like hammers, forks, or other types of pullers. The tie rod lifter is the tool that honda recomends to separate balljoints, and it's the only thing I use...

If you do use a hammer, make sure you don't do somthing dumb and strike the stud. You have to treat the balljoint stud like its a new born baby. If those threads take any damage of any kind you won't be able to get the nut back on, and you will find yourself at replacing the whole thing. I know this from experience...
come on dude... resize. the pic hasnt even finished loading.... but from the comments i guess youre talking about one of the balljoints.
use a hammer. loosen the nut and whack the nub with a big hammer, as hard as possible and repeatedly until the balljoint pops. keep some pressure on it, with your other hand or have someone hold it up if possible.
tip is to keep the castle nut on loosely when hammering. if you do miss, then you dont ruin the threads. at worst you bend the bolt part a bit. but it isnt the end of the world if the threads are damaged. most likely, the threads might need to be chased anyway on either the nut or the balljoint. ive found having hte proper tap and die handy is great.
