Default CRX motor into a EG. Plug-n-play?

I'm going to be getting a CRX SI D-series motor to replace the blown up motor in a 92 DX Civic *beater* for my buddys sister. Does anyone know if the harness will plug right in or not?

I haven't seen the CRX motor yet, but I know that the intake & exhaust manifolds will have to be swapped over (they should fit right?). The car is simply a point A to point B machine that threw a rod this past weekend. What kind of wiring/ECU will I be needing to do if any?

CRX is OBD0, your EG is OBD1... not plug and play, but not hard either.

Could I just swap a bunch of sensors over to that old motor and have it work?

Find someone that has a D16Z6 IM, TB, and throw on the injectors and distributor from the D15 and you should be good to go. Also you might need to use the OBD1 alternator and starter, but not 100% on that

The D15 IM and TB will work as well if you just want it to run and don't really care about making power

No one in Wisconsin really gives a ****, as long as you pass emissions in the few counties that have testing.

that's great. I am sure D50boy down in TEXAS really cares about Wisconsin's lack of emmisions.

I think in Texas, if the cars are past a certain age, they really don't care as long as it passes a safety inspection. They could give a fart about emmissions..... this is the land of a billion pickup trucks.

I'll be using the auto tranny from the 92. I'm not interested at all in making power..... just need to get it moving.

Texas rules:

An older engine may be installed in a newer chassis if all emission control systems and devices are connected, including the exhaust system and catalytic converter, and the resulting engine-chassis configuration conforms to the engine configuration of the model year of the chassis or newer. It is illegal for anyone to change a vehicle into an older configuration.

I was just giving an example of a place that isn't strict on this kind of stuff, demonstrating that not everyplace is **** run when it comes to this.

If it's all automatic stuff... then just swap all the Automatic IM and TB, etc... right onto the CRX engine, and you'll be good to go!
