state reffed smog question for 92 eg with b18b swap(HELP)
I just got a 00 Ls B18b installed into my 92 Dx eg. I keep the ecu and harness OBD1. I still have the Stock intake manifold on there with this thing on top of it, i have no idea what it is. Looks like a vaccum pipe and it also has a plug. It is located right on top of the manifold near the trottle body. Can someone let me know what that thing is and if i need that thing to bar my car? Also please, let me know if my setup will pass bar. thank you

Check the 2nd post on this 92-00 Civic/Del Sol forum, I know its the 2nd cause its sticky and you should use it for any questions you have about anything, that thread was made to answer almost any questions, and your questions and the answers to them are on that list, its even organized.

i heard that if i keep everything obd1 i will pass. So far the harness and ecu are obd1 , i have to change out the intake manifold to obd1 in order to pass. if i do that the whole motor would be considered obd1. is that right???

thats one way of staying obd1 , also the alternator wire, the distrbutor wire, the ignitors on the manifold, the vacuum canister and lines.
but.........the main concern comes in you being able to proof with a reciept that the engine is from an odb1 car. or you can risk them not asking for a reciept of the engine. some never get asked but most do. if you cant then you need to go to obd2. since the obd1 and obd2 b18b are the same just the manifold and sensors are different the lower block is the same. so you just need to get a reciept showing thats is from a 94 or 95 integra ls and you should be fine. 96+ is obd2 i believe.
