Default :: Serious Help Please :: Engine Bogging Badly ::

Long time HT reader, but this is my first post... Ill try to keep this as simple as possible for you guys... I just got my car back about a month ago, i lost it for a year and it sat in my front yard so the very first things i did were all the major repairs.. New radiator, brakes, rotors, axels, fuel filter, oil change etc... Anyways i wanted to make sure the fuel system got cleaned out real good so i ran out the last bit that was in the tank, filled it back up with fresh 93oct and put the STP Gas Treatment in, ran that through to an empty tank... Filled it back up and ran STP Fuel System cleanere through to an empty tank... I kno i dont have to empty it everytime im just real crazy about my car... And the next part i think is were i made my mistake... After all the previous fuel additives the car ran fine im almost 100 % sure... Then a mechanic told me to try running rubbing alchohol through the tank to eliminate any moisture in fuel system... I was skeptical so i asked him for sure if he meant RUBBING alchohol and not just the regular alchohol... I dont kno what the difference is but he said for sure he meant rubbing alchohol so i tried it on a full tank and the car didnt really run any different untill it got to a little under half a tank... Then i noticed that under acceleration in 1st gear when the engine reaches about 3k rpms the engine almost seems like it cuts off... It doesnt die... But i have to put the clutch in and tap the accelerator to get the rpms bouncing around again... I thought that filling the tank up again and hoping that by the end of the second tank most of it would have burned through... Oops forgot to mention that the car runs fine untill it gets below half a tank... By the end of the second tank there was still no change... And so on for the third tank... So frustrated, i drained ALL the gas out of my tank today... Put ALL new fresh gas in because i thought the bogging was happening because of the alcholol in the tank... So now with no alchohol at all in the tank... Im still having the same problem and it only happens below hallf a tank... Under acceleration in 1st and 2nd gears as soon as the engine reaches roughly 3k rpms it seems like the fuel cuts off... I need to kno if anyone has any ideas.... Im thinking it could be my fuel pump... The car has 104k miles on it and i dont kno if it has ever been changed... Sorry this is so long... Thanks in advance...

cliffnotes:
dude got car
dude put stp crap in car (STP Gas Treatment)
dude put more crap in car(STP Fuel System cleaner)with an empty tank
dude put rubbing alcohol in car
car stutters
dude drained gas and refilled
car still stutters

putting the fuel system cleaner in on an empty tank couldve screwed some things up, but before you change your filter or anything that costs more than $20 why dont you try changing your fuel filter especially after running all that crap through it
