Alright, I got a 1993 Z6 swap with si tranny.
My starter is going bad.
so I went to buy a new starter.
I got an auto one for cheap, took the motor out of that one, and it bolted up to my si base.
However, this seems to push that turner on the flywheel too much and the starting is not as smooth
My question is this, I know the auto and manual trannies have different bases, but what about the 1.5L and the 1.6L trannies?
I know the trannies are the same base wise, as you can put a 1.5L on a z6 tranny, but can I get a 1.5L starter and will it bolt up to my si tranny?
Or is the base different?
thanks

As long as they're MT starters you shoulnt have a problem. I believe in 93 honda changed starters from the original type to one of the permanent magnet type. As far as I know this is the only difference. It shouldnt affect how it bolts up.
