Can T-304 stainless steel exhausts be modified (cut/welded)?

I am looking to buy a DC Sports cat-back exhaust for my 97 civic coupe.
Only problem is, the exhaust is for a hatch, so I need to extend the axle-back section of the exhaust to make it fit on my car.
The piping is made of T-304 stainless steel.

Keep in mind that I know NOTHING about welding, but can I take this exhaust to a muffler shop and have them extend the piping on it?
I don't care if it's mild steel they use, I'm not looking to spend a lot of money and I don't care how it looks. Just as long as it doesn't leak.
Thanks in advance y0

yes they can weld it. wont look pretty but itll work. in terms of no leaks. depends how good the welder is
take it to some one whith eithre stainless wire in there mig or have some one tig it so it wont rust (a good stainless welders beads will look slightly gold or an even better welder will leave the beads looking like shinny dimes)
just make sure they use stainless filler, as carbon steel filler on stainless is very unreliable, and could crack immediately or a year down the road.
308 is the proper filler for welding 304.

I just picked this DC Sports exhaust up tonight. I know the mid-pipe will fit, but the axle-back has to be cut and modified.
I'm picking up an OBX stainless axle-back (just for the piping, **** the muffler) and I plan on cutting the piping and welding it in place of what's on this muffler now.
Any other thoughts on "doing it right"?
