full-race too much for a strictly street car?
I finally have money to start considering an exhaust manifold for my Ep3 and now that Full-Race has a K-series manifold in the mix, the decision is a little difficult.
My decision right now is between a Rev-Hard cast iron manifold and the Full-Race prostreet manifold; far ends of the spectrum I know. So, is a Full-Race manifold a little bit overkill? This will be my first turbo setup and I know it will not be the last configuration my Si ever sees, so should I go ahead and spring for the Full-Race in anticipation of higher power output in the future. If I do get it, I think I would feel bad mounting my weak Turbonetics T3/T04E on it
. Is there any way that it could actually hurt my performance with what will be an otherwise VERY entry level setup? Will there be any problems using a 44mm wastegate and long exhaust runners with such a relatively low-performance (250ish horsepower) setup?
I think I've gotten the point of my concerns across, so:
1) Get the Full-Race manifold and not have to worry about getting a new manifold when I decide to step up the power?
or
2) Get the RevHard manifold and use the money saved to buy more parts and be even closer to the goal of a turbocharged Honda?

With an exhaust manifold that has been designed and tested to promote proper exhaust pressures and entry into the turbo, I do not forsee any "performance issues." The Full-Race manifolds are not for use on strictly 500+WHP cars. That is just what you come to expect from one of their kits now a days. You can get the Pro Street manifold with a T3 flange and a 40MM waste gate flange. This will give you more than enough options for later to go with something like the T3/T67 H.O, or the T3/60-1. These turbos have been proven to provide 500+WHP at 26+ pounds of boost.

I went log mani........year later, shelled out the $$ for the full-race. SHould have went full race from the beginning.

Personally I like the ERL cast stainless manifold, guranteed never to crack, 5 years warranty, will make more power than a street car can put down and only $375
Full-Race...no doubt. If you plan on keeping your ride. When you budget allows, you can upgrade your turbo, and still have a kick-*** manifold.
Personally i know that full-race manifold is top notch, but the price that you are spending on it it not worth it for a 250whp set up in my opinion. you would be fine with a log manifold and those cost like 1 grand less than the full-race. But if you decided that tubalur manifold is what you wanted, look into a neukin manifold which cost half the price of full-race and the qaulity is great too.
i agree with stolenteg point on that .. yes fullrace kits are top notch no doubt but if your aiming for 250whp why spend so much? there are other kits that will put 250whp for half the price if your on a budget.. but if money aint an issue then i say go for it
