Engine idles too low. Car shakes.
Is it possible to increase the RPM the engine idles at a bit? When the AC kicks on or I turn on the lights (which is always) the whole car begins to shake when the RPMs dip real low. Thanks.
Yes, it is relatively easy to up your idle speed, if you dont have a manual, get one. It tells you everything and even has pics. You sould set it between 650 and 750, usually the higher end is better. Or, like deserthonda said, it could be a mount. Try upping the idle first if its low, that should be done regardless.

How do you check whether it's broken or not. Do you need to take the whole engine out? is there other way that can check and need not taking out the engine?
had this problem with my 98 accord recently. the car idles low and shakes...got my mechanic to look at it, apparently one of my spark plug is burnt...the whole time ive been driving in 3 cylinder that why it also caused the car to "die" on me sometimes.
check your plugs..

I'm positve it's not the plugs.
I could be the fuel injectors. Whenever I use B12 chemtool (which is rare) the engine runs much better. The engine's rpm's never dip low enough to make it shake (even with headlights and AC on). When I'm running just ordinary fuel, it shakes often... Think there's any link?

I though I read somewhere, a good way to see if it's broken mounts (with an auto) is:
Pop the hood, shift from park into reverse or drive, and see if the engine seems to "jump".
mine's manual, so don't know what to do in that case.

Does your RPM sink really low for a second or two and then back to normal when the AC or Headlights come on? I've noticed on my 96 Accord LX that it does this and when I am at a stop light when the radiator fans kick on it will shake for a few seconds. It's acting like there is a power draw somewhere that the alternator is spinning fast enough or producing enough amperage at idle.
I still have yet to figure this out.....

thats normal, to stop that get a good battery, and grounding kit
