Default ECU removal as theft prevention practical ?

along the lines of protecting our cars I'm wondering if ECU removal as theft prevention is practical ? I'd go GPS Theft Recovery super nice system if it weren't so expensive. I need to keep this half-way cheap.
I only found one other thread about it and not much on google.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1201686
btw, found this to be a pretty good article I'm sure most people here have read
http://members.***.net/shaundr....html
So I wanna weigh the pros and cons and see if this is practical. mind you I don't know much about ECUs.
Cons:
I'm guessing wires are going to come loose after unplugging and plugging back in ecu many many times. Is this true or are the connectors pretty solid to where you dont have to yank on the wires to get the plug out ? Also can u buy any sort of ecu quick disconnect kit or can u fabricate one with out a degree in engineering?
In the other thread it said everytime you disconnect ecu it resets and has to relearn the car. Is this a big deal or not ?

Pros: thieves have to bring their own ecu or tow the car to steal it.

I kind of like the idea where that one guy in the other thread has foamed his glovebox and keeps it in there.

so , practical or not ?

1. just install kill switch, immobilzer switch, alarm and use club
2. yes removal of ecu few times a day is fine
3. not a good idea, you will wear out ecu connectors which are a pain to replace

I don't know a whole lot about car security I DO know I see a lot of stolen threads so I really wanna protect my car. thanks for any ideas/help/feedback

Pulling the ECU is no more effective then one or two well placed "kill" switch's, although the plugs on ECUs are almost bulletproof unplugging and plugging them in a few times a day will have a negative effect in the plugs and the pins in the ECU over time, you will need to find an old car audio shop, [one that has been around fo a long time] and check and see if they still have a HU carry case, [the ones they used for the 1st gen. of antitheft HUs] the old school pull out HUs, and then of course you will have to putt up with all the wise cracks about carrying a purse lol
I would go with a good alarm, add a backup batt. or backup batt. siren, install one or two "kill" switch's, [redundent, not part of the alarm, as a backup to the alarm] use the Club, don't make it obvious that you have $10,000 in performance upgrades and a $5000 audio system in the car. 94

yea, i was afraid it might have a negative affect on the plugs and the pins in the ECU over time.

thanks for the response.
