Default GSR Tranny

I am eventually going to do a full swap gsr motor and tranny in to a 97 Civic HX but my question is that my stock transmission took a **** on me so i was wondering if it is possible to just drop in the GSR transmission right now because i don't have the motor yet into my stock D-sereis motor. Are there any adjustments that i would have to do besides the transmission mounting?
TIA

The EX will have shorter gearing and the DX will have longer. Either way, you are still stuck with a Y6.

What exactly happened to your tranny. The only one I have ever seen that wasn't worth rebuilding involved a customer that somehow mis-shifted into reverse at 80.

y rebuild ,u can get a hx trans from a junkyard for like 150.00, if i could get my trans rebuilt for less than that, i'd take it. plus he's doing a swap, just get a cheap d seriers trans to putt around in.

With an EX tranny on a HX motor you'll still be in the upper 30's, maybe even tip 40 mpg if you do a ton a freeway driving. The EX tranny is one of the best improvements you can make to the HX. If you already have the b18 ready though, just put it in. If not, then maybe the EX tranny will be enough to hold you over. The y5 is a way underrated motor IMO.

Only interchangable trannies are between the same series engines. B16 can use a B18 tranny and vice versa.

Since you have a D series engine, the B series tranny will not bolt up to your engine.

Just do the engine swap. Takes like 4 hours if you know what you're doing.
